Ready to begin your adventure? There are five sections you can join, depending on your age. The activities and opportunities vary but what is the same is that each will empower you to make friends, learn skills and try new things.
Which evenings do we meet?
We meet during school term times at our HQ off Bates Lane– as you have seen on this site we also do lots of weekend activities including camps, competitions and adventurous activites.

Can girls join Scouts?
Yes, everyone is able to join Scouts – girls included!
Do you have a waiting list?
We do have a waiting list for many of our sections but try and accommodate as many young people in our Group as possible. Please contact us and we’ll let you know the current scenario. We encourage parents to put their children on the waiting list for Beaver Scouts as early as possible. If you’ve moved into the area and were a Scout elsewhere we do out best to fit you in.
What is my child likely to do at the weekly meetings?
Each of our sections do a wide range of activities including craft work, learning new skills,playing games, local vists, ‘Scouting Skills’ and badgework. Each section has a number of programme zones (or themes), badges and challenge awards that help us provide a varied and exciting programme for each of our age groups. We like to call it #SkillsforLife.
We also encourage our members to help us plan their own programme
What is Scouting?
The Scout Association offers everyday adventure and activity to almost 400,000 young people across the UK. The Movement is the largest co-educational youth organisation in the world, with over 28 million Members in 216 countries and territories.
How much does it cost?
At the time of writing our monthly subscription fee is £15 per young person . This covers the cost of insurance, weekly programme and some of the costs of running the Group. You will also to need to purchase a uniform (approx £25). Camps and other activities are charged separately. We do have support available to help those that cannot afford these costs.
Do you have a Child Protection policy?
Yes, all are Leaders are CRB checked before working with our members. We also provide extensive training to all our Leaders in the area of Child Protection which is refreshed regularly. Our Leaders are also trained in basic First Aid and risk assessment to make sure our activities are as safe as we can make them.
