CUBS IN TANWORTH

Cub Scouts are young people (both boys and girls) aged between 8 and 10 1/2, who make up the second section of the Scouting family, between Beavers and Scouts.

TANWORTH CUBS MEET EVERY TUESDAY EVENING DURING TERM TIME FROM 6.30PM TO 8PM.

At Cubs we aim to challenge our members with a program of activities they wouldnt get the chance to experience outside of Scouting. Generally our meetings involve playing team games and taking part in activities that count towards badges that will be worn on the Cubs uniform. Activities range from the traditional map reading and knot tying to the more unusual, like building bridges from spaghetti and marshmallows or playing golf with Frisbees.

Generally we have 2 camps every year; one at our hut and then one at a Scout camp site, where cubs can try more adventurous activities such as rafting, climbing, shooting, archery, canoeing and grass sledging. In addition to this we have day trips, previously we have been to London, gone to a football match at the Ricoh Arena, attended Scout fun days The list goes on.

We are also an active member of the West Warwickshire Scout District allowing us to take part in larger activities, go on bigger camps in more exciting places and compete against other Cub packs in friendly competions like our Distict swimming gala and quiz nights.

Cubs generally runs at capacity and most spaces are filled by Beavers moving up, so if you want your child to join, it is never too early to register, simply complete the form here. Once your name is on our waiting list we will let you know when a place becomes available in whichever section is most appropriate for your child.
